Did you know that October is Manufacturing Month? The Chicago Department of Planning and Development and World Business Chicago recently co-hosted Manufacturing Month Awards at mHUB.
We’re pleased that the employees of Sipi Metal Corporation (1720 N Elston) in the 32nd Ward won a Manufacturing Excellence Award.
Please watch this dynamic video featuring Sipi Metals from the awards program.
The ceremony recognized the many contributions that local manufacturing companies make to Chicago’s economy. Indeed, manufacturing represents 11.3% of the Chicagoland region's economy.
Each honoree demonstrated sustained longevity, resilience in overcoming adversity, creative innovation, community investment, and workforce development.
The city’s ten Local Industrial Retention Initiative (LIRI) nonprofits nominated the honorees. North Branch Works proudly nominated Sipi Metals for this well-deserved award.
Founded by immigrants in 1905, Sipi Metals is a metal manufacturing and recycling firm. The company specializes in three lines of businesses: precious metals refining, engineered alloys manufacturing, and secure data destruction.
A woman-owned industrial business, Sipi Metals operates a world-class ISO-accredited metals laboratory to verify the purity and composition of its products and refined materials.
Sipi Metals has been a longtime member business of North Branch Works and a valued partner. Congratulations to Sipi Metals on this great honor!
We’d also like to recognize 32nd Ward Alderman Scott Waguespack (pictured above with Jonathan Snyder, NBW Executive Director) and his staff for their support and partnership.
Our staff works with the 32nd Ward to attract new businesses to the area and provide high-quality services to the existing business community.
Recent winners of Manufacturing Month Awards in the North Branch include Howe Corporation, Bel Mar Wire Products, Inc., Monarc Sports, and Horween Leather Company.
