Last Friday, the City of Chicago recognized Howe Corporation with an award during an inspirational Manufacturing Month Awards ceremony at mHUB.
A multi-generational, woman-owned manufacturing company, Howe Corporation has manufactured refrigeration equipment for the food storage industry since 1912.

The 2025 Chicago Manufacturing Awards ceremony at mHub on Chicago's Near West Side; October 2025.
The company is well known for its sustainable ice flaker machines that preserve our food supply.
These machines can be found in major retailers like Whole Foods, Panera Bread, Wegmans, Concool, and the Seattle Fish Company.
Located in the North Branch Industrial Corridor, Howe Corporation (1650 N Elston Avenue) employs a workforce of thirty-five people in high-quality jobs.
It was an honor for our staff to nominate the company for a manufacturing month award and join our fellow Local Industrial Retention Initiative (LIRI) delegate agencies at the ceremony.
The LIRI program is a great initiative made up of ten neighborhood nonprofit organizations across the city.
We work hard to attract and retain manufacturing companies in Chicago by connecting them with grants, city programs, and growth opportunities.
North Branch Works is deeply grateful to Howe Corporation for the many contributions it makes to our service area.
We look forward to a continued partnership with the company and helping it grow and hire more Chicago residents.
