Maplewood Brewery & Distillery (2717 N Maplewood Avenue) in Logan Square is one of 29 small and mid-size manufacturers across the state to win a Made in Illinois Grant.
Governor JB Pritzker, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), and the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (IMEC) recently announced the recipients.
The Made in Illinois Program, administered by the IMEC with funding from DCEO, provides matching grants up to $50,000 to help small and mid-sized manufacturers invest in strategic projects that fuel innovation, increase productivity, and enhance competitiveness.
The program is a part of Illinois’ broader commitment to support the state’s manufacturers while strengthening the manufacturing ecosystem.

Maplewood Brewery & Distillery will use these funds to help with the costs of a new brewhouse, and the related installation costs. The grant has helped improve the overall efficiency of Maplewood’s production facility.
North Branch Works staff was honored to join IMEC, DCEO, Illinois, State Senator Graciela Guzman, and Maplewood owners, Paul Megalis, Ari Megalis, and Adam Cieslak to celebrate the arrival of this grant.
Maplewood Brewery & Distillery is a great example of how manufacturing has shifted from large companies to smaller scale neighborhood businesses. Maplewood currently employs a workforce of thirty-five people in high-quality jobs.
And the company is expanding to the suburbs with plans to open a Glen Ellyn location next year.
North Branch Works would like to congratulate Maplewood on this incredible recognition.
