The City of Chicago’s Small Business Improvement Fund is an incredible program that strengthens small, manufacturing, and industrial firms by providing reimbursable grants for building improvements.
We’re thrilled that SBIF is about to open for businesses in the Goose Island Tax Increment Financing District (TIF) on September 1st.
To help as many businesses as possible, we are holding an information session on Sept. 3rd from noon to 2 p.m. at the Three Top Lounge at the Salt Shed (1357 N Elston Avenue).
Please RSVP to Steve Simmons at 773-929-5552 x2226 or steve@northbranchworks.org
SBIF grant funds can be used for upgrades like a new roof, floors, windows, doors, HVAC systems, interior remodeling, and more.
There is no cost to attend; Our partner, Wintrust Bank, will provide lunch.
Commercial businesses are eligible for a grant up to $150,000 while industrial companies with 200 or less employees can receive a maximum of $250,000.
The deadline to apply for a SBIF grant on Goose Island is September 30th at 5 p.m.
If you have questions or would like help applying for SBIF, please reach out to NBW staff. We’ve guided many businesses through SBIF and would love to help you.
SBIF does not come around often so we encourage firms on Goose Island to consider applying for this amazing opportunity.
