Brothers Restaurant (3000 W Belmont) in Avondale recently won a community development grant from the City of Chicago’s Department of Planning & Development.

We’re thrilled the family-owned small business will be able to use the grant funds to purchase and install new windows, buy a commercial dishwasher, and make upgrades to the overall dining experience.

Our staff worked closely with the owners, Nestor Hurtado and Laura Villegas (pictured above), on its grant application.

We identified the opportunity, brainstormed ideas for the proposal, and helped them write and submit it before the deadline in August of 2025.

It’s a great example of the benefits of working closely with our organization. We love helping our businesses win grants and growth opportunities like this one.

We’d also like to recognize Ald. Rossana Rodriguez (33rd Ward) for her strong support of the project and the business.
