Undefined x One Way Boxing Club, located at 1001 N. North Branch, is a lifestyle club offering everything from performance, boxing, fitness, merchandise and grassroots services to its members and community.

Community is at the heart of the club. Staff members greet guests warmly, get to know them personally, encourage members to share their fitness goals, and provide coaching and tailored support to help them succeed.

The business features a collegiate level weight room, performance area, a boxing club, and recovery with sauna and cold plunges.

Owners David and Sorina Ortiz are committed to making the gym and its training programs accessible to people from all economic backgrounds.

They know boxing changes lives by teaching valuable lessons such as discipline, humility, respect, confidence, and self-regulation.

The Ortizes are dedicated to creating a safe, affordable, and welcoming space for people of all backgrounds and abilities. They work closely with partners Head Trainer William "Billy" Hubert and R2 to carry out this vision.

The club is housed in an innovative adaptive reuse of a former 250,000-square-foot warehouse on Goose Island south of Division Street.

The club occupies 13,000 square feet with a boxing ring in the basement and a performance training center and weight room on the first floor.

The business has grown into an uplifting community space that supports both its members and neighborhood partners.

Owner David Ortiz has been recognized for his violence prevention work, and his service as a boxing consultant for the Chicago Lyric Opera.

Undefined x One Way Boxing Club launched a noprofit "We Got Hands Foundation" that offers affordable memberships to youth from 8-17 years old, community pop ups with services on recovery/yoga/dance as well as other activations.

The company also partners with nonprofit groups in Pilsen (Healthy Hood) & East Garfield Park offering youth internships, along with other nonprofit organizations USA Boxing with annual amateur shows in the club, the Reaumond Foundation with its annual Knockout Cancer fundraising event at the House of Blues, Quest Multisport and Chicago Hope Academy.

Over the past year, the gym has hosted five community events, each benefiting a nonprofit or neighborhood partner.

Indeed, the next boxing event featuring One Way Boxing will be held Saturday August 29th with an amateur event from 2-4 p.m. in the afternoon and a professional one from 6-11 p.m. in the evening.

Both events will be held at Quest Multi Sport Complex (2641 W Harrison St, Chicago, IL 60612). Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Undefined x One Way Boxing Club is open Mondays through Thursdays from 6:15 a.m. to 8:15 p.m., Fridays from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
