We are joining forces with Wintrust Bank to hold an information session about the City of Chicago’s Small Business Improvement Fund (SBIF).

It will be held on Oct. 2nd from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Wintrust Bank (2814 W. Fullerton) in Logan Square. Refreshments will be provided.

SBIF is about to open in part of our service area, the Addison South TIF District, on Oct. 1st.

The program provides businesses with reimbursable grants for permanent building improvements. These funds can be used for new windows, roofs, doors, HVAC systems, tuckpointing, bathroom remodeling, and more.

Commercial businesses are eligible for grants up to $150,000 while industrial firms with 200 or less employees can receive a maximum of $250,000 with 50% project reimbursement.

The program requires that businesses show they have the financing to complete their projects. This can satisfied by sharing a bank statement or a letter from a bank with a loan commitment.

Our friends at Wintrust will discuss financing options for businesses participating in the SBIF program. We will also tune into the informational webinar that the program administrator, SomerCor, is hosting on Oct. 2nd.

NBW staff will be on hand to discuss how we can help you move through the SBIF program and complete your project.

Some of our member businesses who have successfully completed SBIF projects include The Alley, Guild Row (pictured), Hyun's Hapkido & Taekwondo School, and Lucas Tire & Autocare.

Please RSVP to Genevieve Cook at 773-929-5552 x2236 or genevieve@northbranchworks.org
