We are excited to partner with North River Commission on a bike tour of the North Branch and Albany Park on July 29th from 10 a.m. to noon. To sign up, please go here.
The leisurely bike ride includes stops at several of our dynamic local businesses as well as ones in North River Commission’s service area in Albany Park.
We will meet at Thattu (2601 W. Fletcher Street), a new southwest Indian coastal restaurant from Chef Margaret Pak in Avondale. Thattu is located on the southwest corner of Rockwell St. and Fletcher St.
Our tour will take us across the North Branch of the Chicago River via the new Riverview Bridge, the longest pedestrian and bike bridge in the city. We'll use the Manor Greenway to travel safely to Albany Park.
Our destinations in Albany Park include a. favorite design, Anchor Baby Vintage, and Vintage Grindhouse During the tour, business owners will share their stories and future plans.
The ride will end at Hyun's Hapkido & Taekwondo School (2743 N. Western Avenue) and Boulevard Bistro (2753 N. Western Avenue) for lunch.
The bike ride is approximately 5.6 miles; we will use the 312 RiverRun Trail, and Kedzie Avenue and Elston Avenue bike lanes for most of it. This event is designed for people of all ages and abilities.
This bike tour is a great way to get a behind-the-scenes look at businesses in the North Branch and Albany Park, as well as learn about collective efforts to improve active transportation options.
Tickets for the bike tour are $25. All proceeds support our mission to strengthen local businesses and the creation of high-quality jobs for Chicago residents.
