On April 14th, we hosted an infrastructure webinar updated businesses and community members in our service area about the Chicago & Halsted, Division, and Cortland Bridge projects.

Experts from the Chicago Department of Transportation presented about each project and answered questions.

If you missed the webinar, the presentation slides for Division Street Bridge can be seen here, and Chicago Avenue & Halsted Viaduct can be viewed here.

We are actively seeking specific updates about the Cortland Bridge project and will keep our network updated as we receive information.

Some of the most important takeaways for businesses and community stakeholders in the area include:

  • The replacement of the Chicago Avenue Bridge & Halsted Viaduct project is on schedule to be finished by the end of December 2026.
  • The replacement of the two bridges on Division Street is scheduled to start during the first quarter of 2027 and be completed by the fourth quarter of 2028.
  • The Cortland Street Bridge (pictured) rehabilitation project will be done sometime between March and September of 2027.
  • North Branch Works is working on a transportation plan for the area with leaders in the region. We will reach out to businesses soon to share updates, gather input, and build support for this project.

We will continue to monitor these important infrastructure projects and make sure you have the latest updates about construction timelines and detour information.
