North Branch Works (NBW) is excited to have an opening for a newly created Assistant Carpenter position.

This person will play a key role in building home improvements that help senior residents enjoy a high-quality of life and keep neighborhoods affordable.

NBW is proud to be in our thirteenth year of running the City of Chicago’s Small Accessible Repairs for Seniors Program (SARFS). Every year, we consistently exceed the goals in our city contract.

It’s a great opportunity for candidates who are passionate about serving others and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collegial team environment.

Our new Assistant Carpenter will work closely with our Field Manager, Reggie Hamilton. Reggie has over seventeen years of construction experience including concrete, carpentry, flooring, rehab, plumbing, drywall repair and installation.

NBW is a membership-based, nonprofit organization focused on promoting sustainable economic and community development along the North Branch of the Chicago River.

Compensation is $19 per hour; the position is 40 hours a week through November 30, 2023.
